Special Story about Liz:
On 7/30/2019 Liz mentioned that the honey thickened milk that is purchased for residents on altered consistency diet was not the proper consistency and that she has had to use thickener to make it the right consistency for residents to drink. Upon investigation, it was found that the product was, in fact, not of a honey thick consistency.
The product's distributor was alerted to the faulty product and the manufacturer placed a nation-wide recall on the product due to its potential to harm anyone on a honey thickened liquid diet.
Due to Liz speaking up and saying something about the product, she potentially saved not only our residents from harm, but anyone nation-wide on an altered consistency liquid diet from harm. What did this star do?Kate Hatton, Social Worker, is our June 2016 Culture Star! She has worked as our Social Worker since September 2013, but she was no stranger to Crouse Community as she worked as a Unit Helper for four years while she was in high school. In college Kate even interned during the summer with us to learn her craft from Nancy, our Social Services Director. Kate is a loving, caring, and committed individual who shows it with all her interactions with our residents and their families. She is also a great team member as well and is always willing to lend a hand, including helping to organize employee "Staff Appreciation Fun" days. We are truly blessed to have Kate as an employee and she is an outstanding example of why she is our CULTURE STAR!
