Amber Rounds

What did this star do?

Amber has been with Crouse Community Center since April 2018. From the minute she started as a Rehab Tech, she made an instant impact and then some! Amber shows outstanding initiative and always goes above and beyond. She is able to incorporate organization and efficiency under any situation. You can catch Amber talking to our residents and staff with a smile on her face and an outstanding can do attitude. We are truly blessed to have Amber as an employee and she is an outstanding example of why she is a CULTURE STAR!

 


 

Darlene Shantal

What did this star do?

Darlene Shantal has been one of our longest and most dedicated employees since Crouse Community Center opened our doors in 1991. In fact, Darlene started working at Gerrit Smith Infirmary in 1997 and helped in the transition of those residents to our beautiful facility. She has always been willing to go the extra mile for her residents and her compassion always shows through. Darlene is always willing to volunteer to come in early and stay late to ensure excellent care and services. We are truly blessed to have Darlene as an employee and she is an outstanding example of why she is a CULTURE STAR!

 


 

Cyler Newton

What did this star do?

Cyler Newton is an essential part of the dietary staff and has been for the past two years. As a foodservice worker, she constantly takes on extra responsibility to ensure that our residents receive the excellent service that they deserve. She is also a trainer and mentor for new staff, as she knows almost every position in the kitchen. Cyler ensures that new staff fully understand the scope of their duties and their main responsibility is to serve our residents. It is her compassion and respect for our residents and her ability to teach and lead others and be a part of a team that makes her deserving of this honor. We are truly blessed to have Cyler as an employee and she is an outstanding example of why she is a CULTURE STAR!

 


 

Lindsey Fowler

Department: Housekeeping

What did this star do?

Lindsey has been working in our housekeeping department since August 2017. As a housekeeper, she makes sure all the departments she works with and all her residents have what they need. Lindsey goes out of her way to help everyone, especially with the residents who love her on how attentive she is. She is very accommodating and will help out in laundry when needed and out on any of the units. Lindsey never complains, works with a smile, and does an excellent job with attention to detail. We are truly blessed to have Lindsey as an employee and she is an outstanding example of why she is a CULTURE STAR!

 


 

Chris Eiholzer

What did this star do?

Chris has worked at Crouse Community Center since the very first day we opened August 10, 1991! In fact, she worked for Gerrit Smith Infirmary for 4 years prior to transferring with those residents and staff to our new building. She works on our 11pm to 7am shift, is always personable, and accommodates the needs of all her residents. Chris knows her residents and their health care conditions very well and will alert the licensed nursing staff on any changes in condition quickly. She has always prioritized her work and can be depended on to come in early, stay late, or work on the weekends to help her fellow coworkers with the residents. We are truly blessed to have Chris as an employee and she is an outstanding example of why she is a CULTURE STAR!

 


 

Nancy Whitmarsh

Department: Laundry

What did this star do?

Nancy has worked at Crouse Community Center in the laundry department since March 2004! In that 14 years, Nancy has been extremely dependable and never lets us down. She always stays overnight in major snowstorms and is always there to help when others take vacation time. Nancy supports her supervisor with providing necessary feedback on any issues she might see throughout the facility to make sure things run smoothly. The residents and her coworkers enjoy seeing and talking to her. We are truly blessed to have Nancy as an employee and she is an outstanding example of why she is a CULTURE STAR!

 


 

Shelly Strait

Department: Social Services

What did this star do?

Shelly is a valuable asset to the Social Services Department. She is very dependable and steps up to help cover when one of the other staff members are out. Shelly has a wonderful sense of humor, as well as being very compassionate and empathetic toward the needs of residents and families. She advocates for her residents' needs and rights even if met with resistance. Families feel comfortable coming to her with any issues, or to just "check in." Shelly is an integral part of the Care Planning Team and does an excellent job ensuring the needs of her residents are addressed with the staff and families. We are truly blessed to have Shelly as an employee and she is an outstanding example of why she is a CULTURE STAR!

 


 

Kristin Novotny

What did this star do?

Kristin started working at Crouse Community Center in June of 2015, and has been a wonderful employee with a fantastic work ethic ever since. She is flexible and always there when a coworker is in need of help or support. Her residents and patients enjoy her company and her extensive knowledge of how to help them improve. You can catch Kristin working hard or wishing for a unicorn when she is on break, as she is obsessed with them. Please help to congratulate Kristin, and when you see her ask her what the difference is between a woodchuck and a beaver! Cory Hagmann

What did this star do?

Cory started working in the Dietary Department in February 2018. In the short time he has worked here, he has made a positive impact on our organization. Cory always comes into work with a smile, is willing to work any position in the kitchen, and will do what it takes to ensure our residents get the best service possible. He helps out his coworkers and has impressed them so much that the evening nursing staff recommend him overwhelmingly for this award. Johanna Wentworth

What did this star do?

Johanna started at Crouse Community Center just over a year ago in our C.N.A. training course, and has been a Full-Time employee since May 2017. She provides excellent care to her E/F residents and is always accommodating their needs. Johanna is extremely proactive and creative in working with residents that have dementia and/or resistive. This allows her to ensure each of those residents maintain their dignity and get exceptional care. She has become a leader on her unit and a great mentor to her coworkers! We are truly blessed to have Johanna as an employee and she is an outstanding example of why she she is a CULTURE STAR!

 


 

Chalton Skinner

What did this star do?

Chalton has been working in the housekeeping department since September 26, 2014. He is a hardworking gentleman that is extremely dependable with an impeccable attendance record. Chalton does a wonderful job in all the resident rooms and our residents love when he is working. He gets along well with his coworkers and is willing to stay and help out when needed. We are truly blessed to have Chalton as an employee and he is an outstanding example of why he is a CULTURE STAR!

 


 

Blanche Swaim

What did this star do?

Blanche joined Crouse Community Center on August 12, 2014 as the E/F Unit Secretary. She is a dedicated coworker to all her E/F team, helping keep them all on track and organized for our residents. Besides providing excellent customer service to our residents and their families every day, Blanche also volunteers her time too with the residents doing bible study on Fridays. She is also extremely helpful, and a life saver, with computer spreadsheets for several nursing administration members! We are truly blessed to have Blanche as an employee and she is an outstanding example of why she is our CULTURE STAR!

 


 

Tracey Gulliver

Tracey joined our team on October 31, 2016 as a Certified Nursing Assistant. For the past year, she has shown herself to be a hard worker and someone who goes above and beyond each time she works. Her attitude is always upbeat and positive, and she has a great sense of humor. Tracey is considered the team leader on the unit, as she always ensures the residents get the best care and lends a hand to her coworkers when needed. Julie Williams

What did this star do?

Julie Williams is our 3 to 11 RN Supervisor. She has been with Crouse Community Center for almost 18 years now. Julie started out as a Unit Helper, took our C.N.A. class to become a C.N.A., and then went on to nursing school as she worked here to become an R.N. Julie is extremely dedicated and loyal to the facility and its residents and is critical in supporting and managing the entire building when she works. She is flexible with her work schedule to meet the needs of the residents. We are truly blessed to have Julie as an employee and she is an outstanding example of why she is our CULTURE STAR!

 


 

Collin Pearsall

What did this star do?

Collin has been with us for 2 years! He started with Crouse Community Center on October 1, 2015. Collin is a full time college student and works evenings in a full time roll. He always steps up to lend a hand when needed, especially helping out at our Adult Day Care Centers and filling in when another co-worker cannot work. Collin is wonderful with the residents and is very well liked by his coworkers. We are truly blessed to have Collin as an employee and he is an outstanding example of why he is our CULTURE STAR!

 


 

Ray Wilson

What did this star do?

Ray Wilson is one of our longest serving employees! He started with Crouse Community Center on August 10, 1991, the same day we opened and Gerrit Smith Infirmary closed. Ray's dedication to Crouse Community Center's residents is truly unmatched. He is never worried about himself, he rarely takes vacation and is always first in and last to leave, because he puts the residents needs first over his own. No job is too big, no job is too small, and no job is too dirty, as Ray is always willing to do what needs to be done. We are truly blessed to have Ray as an employee and he is an outstanding example why he is our CULTURE STAR!

 


 

Tommy Nitze

What did this star do?

Tommy started working at Crouse Community Center as a Dietary Aide in December 2007. Over the past 10 years, he has grown from a Dietary Aide to becoming a C.N.A., and now a L.P.N. Tommy is a pleasure to work with and is a tremendous part of our team. He is a very capable nurse with great skills and is willing to jump into provide resident care when needed. As a treatment nurse he goes above and beyond, including helping with auditing assignments; and as a medication nurse he is always willing to help out on every unit to complete a medication pass. Residents and families all enjoy Tommy and his positive and friendly attitude. We are truly blessed to have Tommy as an employee and he is an outstanding example of why he is our CULTURE START!

 


 

Holly Baker

Holly has been an employee at Crouse Community Center for over 20 years! She is a tremendous asset to our organization because her knowledge of many different systems and policies allows her to support all departments, including the Board of Directors. Holly is always willing to help and her friendly, good natured personality shines every day with residents, families, and staff members. She is involved in planning of all events and is a critical part of the management team. We are truly blessed to have Holly as an employee and she is an outstanding example of why she is our CULTURE STAR!

 


 

Olivia Holcomb

What did this star do?

Olivia has been a C.N.A for Crouse Community Center since May 2016 when she graduated from our C.N.A. class. She has developed into an excellent caregiver for our residents. Several departments have taken notice of her hardworking, kind, and proactive nature over the last several months and recommended her for this honor. Olivia takes the extra time needed to ensure al l of her residents receive excellent care and treats each one like they are family. She has worked very well with the therapy department and utilizes the approaches she is taught extremely well. We are truly blessed to have Olivia as an employee and she is an outstanding example of why she is our CULTURE STAR!

 


 

Bobbi Jo Potter

What did this star do?

Bobbi Jo has excelled as a unit helper at Crouse Community Center for the past 9 years. She takes on extra tasks like marking clothes, putting together admissions packets, and working with our consulting physicians who have all mentioned how helpful she is to them. During the last month's blizzard, Bobbi Jo stayed to help out for 24 hours straight to ensure there was more than enough staff to attend the residents' needs. She has an upbeat personality and also willing to do what is needed with a smile. We are truly blessed to have Bobbi Jo as an employee and she is an outstanding example of why she is our CULTURE STAR!

 


 

Frank Featherlv

What did this star do?

Frank has been an employee at Crouse Community Center for 16 years! In the past month, Frank has really shown great leadership in assisting in training several coworkers and then following up with them after their training period to give them pointers and making sure they were comfortable doing their jobs. His leadership skills go beyond training; as he is always willing to help others, helps maintain a sanitary work place, communicates with the team to make sure things are completed timely, and he has had PERFECT ATTENDANCE for more than a year. We are truly blessed to have Frank as an employee and he is an outstanding example of why he is our CULTURE STAR!

 


 

Jordan Almendinger

What did this star do?

Jordan has been our Rehab Assistant since June 2015. Her coworkers call her the "glue" of the Rehab Department because Jordan is a jack of all trades. If there is something that needs to be fixed, you call Jordan; if a therapist needs an extra set of hands, Jordan is there to always help out; if there is a project to do, Jordan can quickly complete the task! She truly is the heartbeat of the Department. Her friendly, sweet personality shows through each and every day to the residents and her coworkers. Sandy Hynes

Sandy is currently our office scanner and assistant at Crouse Community Center and has been here since November 2010. She was even an employee at Crouse Community Center in 2002 -2004 when she went through our C.N.A. training program and then worked as a C.N.A. Sandy goes above & beyond and will help out with whatever is needed. Her friendly personality always has her with a smile on her face and makes her coworkers comfortable. Magenta Kennedy

Magenta has been a C.N.A. at Crouse Community Center since May 2016. She goes above & beyond for her residents and always helps out all her coworkers, including the licensed nursing staff, without complaint. Magenta is pleasant, always has a smile on her face, and makes her residents feel comfortable and well cared for. She is often seen giving one on one care for ill residents that are not assigned to her without ever being asked. Bob Hemming

Bob has been a Physical Therapy Assistant at Crouse Community Center since January 2015. He is known for his sense of humor and positive attitude in everything he does. Bob is a bit on the competitive side, as he is always willing to participate in any competition we have here at the facility. The residents that he helps each and every day appreciate how helpful, considerate, and motivating he is. Bob is a tremendous team player and is respected by his peers. Christine began her career at Crouse Community Center in August 2014, and then became a full-time Certified Nursing Assistant for us in August 2015. She always has a cheery attitude and goes above and beyond to make sure her residents are well taken care of. Christine does anything that is asked of her without any complaints because she is a great team player. Daniel has been a housekeeper for Crouse Community Center since July 2015. He takes pride in his work and is meticulous in ensuring that the facility sparkles. Daniel is very polite and interacts with residents, staff, and families. He takes the initiative to go above and beyond by always lending an extra hand. Sarah Moore

Sarah his been a Speech Therapist at Crouse Community Center since September 2015. She has fit right in with not only the Therapy Team, but with the culture here at Crouse Community Center. She is very dedicated to the residents and families feel comforted with Sarah on the case? Yolanda has been a RN at Crouse Community Center since February 2013 on the A-B unit. Her kind personality and caring nature shows each and every day she works. Yolanda is always willing to help and has been a great resource in helping out all shifts and supervising when needed. She is very detail orientated and holds staff accountable for resident care. Kate Hatton

What did this star do?

Kate Hatton, Social Worker, is our June 2016 Culture Star! She has worked as our Social Worker since September 2013, but she was no stranger to Crouse Community as she worked as a Unit Helper for four years while she was in high school. In college Kate even interned during the summer with us to learn her craft from Nancy, our Social Services Director. Kate is a loving, caring, and committed individual who shows it with all her interactions with our residents and their families. She is also a great team member as well and is always willing to lend a hand, including helping to organize employee "Staff Appreciation Fun" days. We are truly blessed to have Kate as an employee and she is an outstanding example of why she is our CULTURE STAR!
